In the context of the future plans and expansion of the EU4ART Alliance, representatives of all partner institutions (HUFA, LMA, ABAROMA, HfBK Dresden) and the associated partner HEAR Straßburg have traveled to Helsinki on 29 September 2022 to discuss the current and future developments of the alliance with the new associated partners of Uniarts Helsinki. During the three days of intensive meetings, the participants debated about the work done so far and the way forward as a summary of the pilot programme. The EU4ART delegation used the opportunity to intensively debate the different university cultures and strategies. Lectures by various representatives of Uniarts on historical developments in the institution, current plans and perspectives formed the kick-off for this.
In the following days, intensive discussions took place on how the cooperation within the EU4ART Alliance with Uniarts could be intensified and expanded step by step. A meeting of the six universities had already taken place in Strasbourg in June, where these topics were also discussed.
In a complementary programme, there was the opportunity to exchange with partners from Helsinki’s arts and culture sector, which particularly stimulated the debates around the important topic of “outreach to society”.
The meeting concluded with a group visit to the Helsinki Museum of Art, where works by two renowned Finnish artists (illustrator Tove Jansson and painter Viggo Wallensköld) were on display.
