An immersion in the Milk of Dreams’ is the title of the workshop that is taking place in Venice from 19 to 24 September 2022.

The pilot project of Eu4art envisages that the knowledge of and attendance at the major international exhibitions will become an integral part of the educational curriculum of art students. The Venice Biennale is one of the most sought-after contemporary art events worldwide.

The exhibition cannot be considered as a complementary aspect of an artist’s career, but an essential and unavoidable moment. It is fundamental that students during their training encounter some principal aspects of the art system, its problems, and its functioning in relation to education on the one hand and the market on the other.

During the workshop, EU4ART students will have the opportunity to visit the Pavilions at the Giardini di Castello and the Arsenal and retrace the history of the Biennale from its foundation to nowadays under the guidance of the participating professors delving into the main lines of the artistic avant-garde movements of the 20th century.

Thus, the constitutes an immersive experience that will provide the opportunity to examine in depth both modern and contemporary works in the various locations of the international pavilions, to study the exhibition communication and to appreciate the variety and diversity of visual approaches.

On 21st September, the Mentors’ Symposium, chaired by Angelica Speroni, will be held at the Museo di Palazzo Grimani so as to conclude the end of the three-year Eu4art 2019-2022 period.

On the 22nd, Tiziana D’Acchille will deliver a lecture entitled “Venice Biennale: A history of an international exhibition from its foundation to the present days” at the Arsenal.
